Building Community Through Education, Two Generations At A Time.

Fall Opportunities:

  • Registration Survey Volunteers: help explain survey to prospective students, answer questions, and/or reassure clients.
  • Pumpkin Painting Party Volunteers and Judges: pass out paint, candy during trick-or-treating, and judge finished pumpkins
  • Whiskey Shivers Concert Fall Fundraiser: Volunteer to help where needed (more details coming soon)
  • Conversational English Class: Join students to help them practice their newly acquired English speaking skills. Volunteers and students will participate in serve and return conversations.
  • Citizenship Mock Testing: Test students on learned content in English to determine if they are prepared for their Citizenship Test
  • Holiday Book Drive: Collect children’s books to help families build their own home libraries and foster a love of reading
  • Holiday Mami & Me: Dress up as Santa and his Elves; hold a small-toy drive; Help at the various tables such as alphabet bingo, cookie decorating, crafts, and more

Spring Opportunities:

  • Registration Survey Volunteers: help explain survey to prospective students, answer questions, and/or reassure clients.
  • Annual Fundraiser Dinner: Volunteer to help with paddles up spotting; silent auction oversight; check-in; decor and prep
  • Conversational English Class: Join students to help them practice their newly acquired English speaking skills. Volunteers and students will participate in serve and return conversations.
  • Mami & Me Spring Picnic and Egg Hunt: Volunteers help at individual activity tables, such as cupcake decorating, crafts, hiding eggs and assisting with egg hunt
  • End of Year Impact Book Drive: Help collect our little students’ favorite book of the year to take home and keep forever
  • Reading Corner Basket: Collect and prepare reading baskets to help families create their own reading corners at home. Collect 50 baskets, 50 blankets, 50 cushions, to create reading corner baskets for our littlest students to take home.
  • Graduation Prep: Help write out recognition certificates; decorate the hall and stage; prepare reading corner baskets; prepare end-of-year take-home folders
